Lead Pastor Rodney Nelson
The ministry of Lead Pastor Rodney Nelson began after pursuing a successful business career in real estate. He knew that the call of God to minister was always on his life, however, it took him some time to heed to this calling after he was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1991. His answer to the call of God on his life led him to study theology at Christian Life College in Stockton, California.
Rodney established himself in the business world as the spokesperson of the National Land Bank and then left his profession to enter the full-time ministry as Bishop John Nelson's (the former Pastor) assistant. He received his local ministerial license in May of 1996, his general licenses in February of 1998, and was ordained in May of 1999.
Pastor Rodney specializes in developing new ministries within the church. As with the highly successful Home Bible Fellowship CARE ministry, his gift of innovation has led East Valley into new venues of meeting spiritual needs, such as our well-staffed and cutting edge Tech ministries. He is highly involved in every ministry at East Valley. His passion is to assist East Valley in staying focused on our calling and ministry. Rodney is man of passion, purpose, and vision, who has built his life by developing personal relationships with everybody he comes in contact with.
Since becoming the Lead Pastor in February, 2010, he has been responsible for all aspects of East Valley’s many ministries. The church continues to thrive under his outstanding shepherding abilities. His strengths in precision, implementation, and passion are invaluable. He has a strong heart for the concerns of His congregation, and the people. of our community. As a single father of two daughters, he understands the challenges, concerns, and pressures of contemporary lifestyles.
Pastor Rodney believes in San Jose and the Bay area, and is committed to serve the congregation here at East Valley Pentecostal Church, while developing ongoing ministries that touch our community and its needs.
