My life was on a very different path before I came to America. My uncle, a very good and devout Catholic man, was sponsoring my education to become a doctor. I was excited about this path to a good life for my future. Then my life took a very different turn. I came to know Christ more fully and deeply when I received the glorious gift of His Spirit. Now my life could have real purpose! When I shared my conversion with my uncle, he was very angry and asked me to denounce all that I now knew was true. He told me that if I did not deny this belief, then he would no longer sponsor my education. I know he was very sure that would change my mind. But he did not understand, I had been changed. He did not understand the peace that I now felt and cherished in my heart. He could not fully come to see that my life had truer meaning than ever before. I could not deny my very powerful experience with God, for it was real. Consequently, he withdrew his support.
I moved to America and met my lovely wife, Mila. I shared this priceless message with her, and she also received this wondrous "Book of Acts" Biblical experience. Together we had a heart to serve the Lord, and today we are passionately involved in the ministry here at East Valley. My lovely wife and I have two beautiful children, Joel and Joy, and we pastor the Filipino ministry here.
